CHICAGO — A woman is suing Bethshan Foundation, Bethshan Association and John Zarlengo Asphalt Paving Co., alleging she sustained injuries from tripping over unsafe asphalt.
Kim Washington filed a complaint on May 2 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to keep their property reasonably safe for their patrons.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she sustained physical injuries from tripping on the premises. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff regarding the elevation at the edge of the asphalt abutting the grass, which plaintiff tripped over, sustaining injuries.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than the jurisdictional limits of this court plus court costs. She is represented by David A. Statham and Stephanie L. Hovanec of Newman, Boyer & Statham Ltd. in Chicago.
