Symphony of Chicago, Jackson Square allegedly failed to prevent bedsores

Medical malpractice 05

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Symphony of Chicago and Symphony of Chicago West, and Jackson Square Skilled Nursing and Living Center, claiming a deceased relative developed bedsores while there.

Janice Jackson, as independent administrator of the estate of Charles Jackson, filed a complaint on May 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to provide proper care to Charles Jackson.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Jackson experienced pain from having pressure ulcers. The plaintiff holds the nursing facility responsible because it allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision and assistance to Jackson to prevent him from developing pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Terrence E. Davey of the Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
