CHICAGO — A woman is suing R.B.I. Sluggers Inc., the operator of Sluggers Restaurant and Bar, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.

Rianna Evans filed a complaint on May 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against the North Clark Street restaurant alleging it failed to properly secure a sign on its property.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges, on May 30, 2016, she was injured while exiting the restaurant when a sign, which was being handled by an employee, fell on her ankle and heel, causing injury. The plaintiff holds R.B.I. Sluggers responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff of the hazardous condition of the sign it put up on its premises.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court, plus court costs. She is represented by Lisa M. Longo of Morici, Figlioli & Associates in Chicago.
