CHICAGO — A Bloomingdale battery manufacturer is suing Springs Window Fashions LLC, alleging the defendant company misled the public regarding the safety of its Zeus Battery Products batteries.

Power Cell LLC filed a complaint on May 8 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging Springs Window made statements and issued a recall based on its assertion that batteries, provided by plaintiff, that power motorized window blinds, were unsafe.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges it sustained damages to its business and reputation because of the defendant's accusations and statements about its products. The plaintiff holds Springs Window Fashions responsible because it allegedly made public statements about the safety of the plaintiff's batteries.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages in an amount no less than $441,011.52, plus interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. It is represented by P. Andrew Fleming and Timothy J. Miller of Novack and Macey LLP in Chicago.
