CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing Belhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center LLC, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.
Mary Smith, as independent administrator of the estate of Cheffrice Smith, filed a complaint on May 5 in Cook County Circuit Court against Belhaven alleging the nursing facility failed to provide proper care to Cheffrice Smith.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Smith experienced pain from having developed decubitus ulcers. The plaintiff holds the facility responsible because it allegedly failed to properly monitor Smith's health, blood pressure and fluid intake, among other measures to prevent adverse health conditions.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Daniel R. McLean of Karlin, Fleisher & Falkenberg L.L.C. in Chicago.
