CHICAGO — An autistic boy, through his father, is suing school bus transportation company Sunrise Southwest LLC and a school bus adult supervisor, citing alleged assault, battery and negligence.

The unnamed 4-year-old minor, by his father of the same name, filed a complaint on May 5 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging Bell, a supervisor on the bus that transported strictly special-needs children, physically assaulted him.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 7, 2016, the boy was struck in the face by the school bus worker. The plaintiff holds Sunrise Southwest responsible because the defendant company allegedly allowed the defendant individual to physically assault the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. He is represented by Daniel M. Breen of Breen Goril Law in Chicago.
