Law money 01

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Stoneport Builders Inc. and Grove Management, alleging liability and negligence for a fall she suffered on a stairway.

Alice Horan filed a complaint on May 11 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to keep their premises reasonably safe for the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges, on Jan. 20, 2016, she was injured when she fell down a stairway on the defendants' property on North Central Avenue in Chicago. The plaintiff holds Stoneport Builders and Grove Management responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate support railings or guards on their stairway, in violation of Chicago Building Code.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Sharon A. Kobrin of Munday & Nathan in Chicago.
