Surgeon with Broadway Orthopedics allegedly negligent in failed hip replacement

Medical malpractice 06

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Alfred Akkeron M.D.; Broadway Orthopedics Ltd.; and Westlake Hospital, alleging negligence for injuries he suffered during a surgery.

Thomas Oleferchik filed a complaint on May 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to provide proper medical care to him.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he sustained serious physical injuries as the result of a failed surgery. He holds the defendants responsible because the defendant surgeon allegedly incorrectly performed a total hip replacement.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount of $50,000. He is represented by Stephan D. Blandin, Rebecca E. Neubauer and Jared M. Wise of Romanucci & Blandin LLC in Chicago.
