Estate sues Southview Manor for negligence stemming from fall, bedsores

Medical malpractice 02

CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family is suing Southview Manor, EMI Enterprises Inc. and 6865 Financial Inc., alleging negligence.

Tiffany Chambers, independent administrator of the estate of Nicole Chambers, filed a complaint on May 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to provide proper care to Nicole Chambers.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Chambers suffered a fall, was given the incorrect dosage of her medication and developed bedsores. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to recognize the symptoms of severe infection in Chambers before it progressed to sepsis.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by John L. Grazian of Grazian & Volpe PC in Chicago.
