CHICAGO — A former employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against Seafood Heaven Inc., which does business as Fisherman's Island, and Mahmod Abughoush, citing alleged unpaid wages and violation of Workers' Compensation acts.

Sergio Rito Mandujano, who was employed as a line cook at the restaurant on 87th Street in Chicago, filed a complaint on behalf of all other plaintiffs similarly situated on May 2 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against the defendants alleging they failed to pay proper compensation to the plaintiff for his work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he worked more than 40 hours per week without being paid overtime compensation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid overtime compensation, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Timothy M. Nolan and Nicholas P. Cholis of Nolan Law Office in Chicago.
