CHICAGO — A woman is suing Fresenius Medical Care Chatham LLC on behalf of a late family member, alleging negligence and that insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Jacqueline Porter, as the independent administrator of the estate of Bobby J. Porter, filed a complaint on May 18 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the hospital failed to provide proper medical care to Bobby Porter.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Porter suffered from an infection that deteriorated his overall health. The plaintiff holds Fresenius Medical Care Chatham responsible because it allegedly failed to recognize the signs of infection in Porter during dialysis treatment.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Brian K. Hetzer of Karlin, Fleisher & Falkenberg LLC in Chicago.
