CHICAGO — A relative is suing Oak Park Arms LLC, a nursing facility, alleging negligence and that insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.
Shirley Phillips, as independent administrator of the estate of Kenneth Phillips, filed a complaint on May 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against Oak Park Arms alleging it failed to provide proper care to Kenneth Phillips.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Phillips experienced pain from suffering a fall which caused a hip fracture, necessitating surgery which the plaintiff claims contributed to the deterioration of his health. The plaintiff holds the facility responsible because it allegedly failed to provide adequate assistance to Phillips while he was being treated there.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Michael F. Bonamarte and Daniel A. Goldfaden of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
