Suit claims Loyola University, Gottlieb Hospital negligent in failed heart procedure

Medical malpractice 06

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Loyola University Health System, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, Clinical Cardiology Consultants S.C. and John Bajgrowicz M.D., alleging negligence for a failed heart procedure she claims led to her mother's death.

Jaclyn Czerski, independent administrator of the estate of Barbara E. Malinowski, filed a complaint on May 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to provide proper medical care to Malinowski.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff allege defendants failed to properly perform a heart procedure on Malinowski on May 14, 2015, which contributed to her death two days later. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly diagnose Malinowski's condition and properly perform a procedure after she had been admitted for chest pain and shortness of breath.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Susan A. Capra of Clifford Law Offices P.C. in Chicago.
