CHICAGO — A man is suing the city of Chicago, six present and former city police officers and more unnamed officers, alleging civil rights and human rights violations.

Quentin Meeks filed a complaint on May 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they subjected the plaintiff to judicial proceedings without probable cause.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he was falsely prosecuted and was attacked while in jail for 25 months awaiting trial, at which he was found not guilty of a weapons charge. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly made false statements regarding the plaintiff to prosecute him.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for compensatory damages, court costs, punitive damages, and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Robert Fioretti, Mark Roth and Kenneth Hurst of Roth Fioretti LLC in Chicago.
