Neomedica sued for negligence over former resident's injuries caused by fall

Medical malpractice 03

CHICAGO — A family member is suing Fresenius Medical Care Neomedica South Shore, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent a former resident's falls.

Raymond Porter, as independent administrator of the estate of Glodine Ellison, filed a complaint on May 25 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the hospital failed to provide proper medical care to Ellison.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Ellison sustained physical injuries as the result of a fall. The plaintiff holds Neomedica Inc. responsible because it allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision and assistance to Ellison to address her risk of falls.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdiction of this court. He is represented by Laurie A. Niego of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
