CHICAGO — A local union is suing Michael Castro, individually and as Great Lakes Fireproofing, alleging breach of contract for unpaid employee fund contributions.

The Construction & General Laborers' District Council of Chicago & Vicinity, and its trustee Catherine Wenskus, filed a complaint on May 18 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois alleging the defendant failed to remit its employees' payroll contributions to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege Castro and Great Lakes Fireproofing breached their obligation to the union by failing to make monthly contributions on behalf of their employees as required by a collective bargaining agreement.

The plaintiffs seek the payment of all union dues, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Katherine Mosenson of the Office of Fund Counsel in Chicago.
