Suit alleges Manorcare of South Holland let former resident develop bedsores

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Manorcare Health Services - South Holland on behalf of her relative's estate, alleging negligence by the facility in allowing the deceased to develop bedsores.

Dorothy Webster, as independent administrator of the estate of Velma Ford, filed a complaint on June 1 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the facility failed to provide proper care to Ford.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the nursing home failed to provide adequate supervision and assistance to Ford to prevent her from developing pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court plus court costs. She is represented by Gordon & Centracchio LLC in Chicago.
