CHICAGO — A family member is suing Oakridge Healthcare Center on behalf of a former patient there, claiming that the nursing facility allowed her to develop bedsores and other health issues.

Mary Bradberry, as independent administrator of the estate of Birdie Golliday, filed a complaint on June 1 in Cook County Circuit Court against Oakridge, located in Hillside, alleging that it failed to provide proper medical care to Golliday.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Golliday developed pressure sores and issues with her gastrostomy tube after the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision and assistance to Golliday to prevent the development and worsening of her health issues, leading to the deterioration of her overall health.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Terrence E. Davey of The Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
