Woman says she had complications from epidural at Illinois Sports Medicine and Orthopedic

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Ira J. Goodman M.D. and Illinois Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery Center LLC, charging the health care providers with negligence in administering a pain management shot.

Sharon Jacobson filed a complaint on June 1 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging they failed to provide proper medical care to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she experienced pain from complications after receiving an epidural from the facility's doctor. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the medication was allegedly negligently injected.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Charles V. Falkenberg III of Karlin, Fleisher & Falkenberg LLC in Chicago.
