Northwestern Memorial Hospital, doctor accused of failing to prevent post-op infection

CHICAGO — A former patient is suing Kevin Hardt M.D. and Northwestern Memorial Hospital for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries and negligence.

Louis Casale filed a complaint on June 6 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to provide him with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges suffered the symptoms of a severe post-operative infection after undergoing a surgical procedure to remove a prosthetic hip to treat an infection from a previous operation. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to treat a post-operative infection.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Bryan J. O'Connor of O'Connor Law Group LLC in Chicago.
