CHICAGO — An employee is suing Dart Container Corp., an employer, citing alleged discrimination and retaliation.
Minerva Ortiz filed a complaint on May 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, alleging the defendant discriminated against her during employment.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the defendant refused to provide her with proper accommodation for her back injury and clinical depression, and counted days he missed from work for her conditions against her to allegedly retaliate. She also alleges she was sexually harassed at work.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, liquidated damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Mario E. Utreras of Utreras Law Offices Inc. in Chicago.
