Former patient accuses Suburban Surgical Specialists, others of leaving metal inside wound

CHICAGO — A former patient is suing Eric Vaughn M.D., Suburban Surgical Specialists S.C., and Mohammed Kahn CSA for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries and negligence.

Oxana Chirilov filed a complaint on June 15 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to provide her with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges metal was left inside her incision during an appendectomy performed June 16, 2015. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to check that plaintiff's incision was free of any foreign bodies before closing the wound.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Mark G. Adler of Adler & Adler P.C. in Chicago.
