Amputee accuses Advocate Christ Medical Center of malpractice

CHICAGO — A contractor is suing Advocate Christ Medical Center and several health care workers, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent infection after injuries he sustained in a fall from a ladder.

Maurice Gibson filed a complaint on June 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against Advocate Christ Medical Center, alleging the hospital failed to provide proper care to the plaintiff, whose foot was eventually amputated due to complications.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the hospital failed to treat the plaintiff's foot infection.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. 

He is representing himself in the litigation.
