Medical supply firm accused of telephone harassment

Phone 08

CHICAGO — A Chicago woman is suing a medical supply company in Tennessee, citing an alleged violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Zucchini McCoy filed a complaint on June 15 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against A-1 Diabetes & Medical Supply Inc., alleging the Tennessee company placed numerous calls to the plaintiff's cellphone.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she was harassed from being contacted several times on her phone. The plaintiff holds A-1 Diabetes & Medical Supply Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff despite her request to stop calling.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and punitive damages, court costs, admonishment of the defendant and any other relief the court grants. She is represented by Nathan C. Volheim of Sulaiman Law Group Ltd. in Oak Brook.
