CHICAGO — An Illinois woman is suing Client Services, a debt collector based in Missouri, over an alleged misrepresentation in debt collection.
Maria Carrillo filed a complaint on June 16 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against Client Services, alleging the debt collector contacted the plaintiff by letter in an attempt to collect an debt.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she suffered anger and humiliation from receiving a collection letter that contains charges in addition to what she owed. The plaintiff holds Client Services responsible because the defendant allegedly attempted to inflate the actual debt.
