CHICAGO — A patient is suing Dr. Briana Decuir, Vista Medical Center East, Joe Dezoma and Deborah Wohlitz, individually and as personal representative of the estate of Yvonne Dezoma, for allegedly not clearly marking doors on their premises, leading him to fall down basement stairs, when he thought he was entering a bathroom.

Brian Dada filed a complaint on June 29 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to realize the injuries he sustained could cause a loss of vision, and for failing to identify a staircase.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he experienced severe and permanent injuries to his vision and other parts of his body by falling down a staircase. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly identify which door led to the bathroom as opposed to the basement.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Edward M. Rubin of Rubin, Machado & Rosenblum Ltd. in Chicago.
