Manor Care of Palos Heights East allegedly failed to prevent woman from fall

CHICAGO — The executive of the estate of a deceased patient is suing Manor Care of Palos Heights IL LLC d/b/a Manor Care of Palos Heights East, a nursing facility, for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries and negligence.

Laurie Krygowski, independent executor of the estate of Mary K. Heinen, filed a complaint on June 29 in the Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant failed to provide Heinen with proper care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Heinen experienced pain from falling out of bed and fracturing her hip, which reportedly contributed to the deterioration of her health. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to provide adequate supervision to Heinen in order to address her risk of falling.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Vincent Petrosino and Kevin J. O'Shea of Serpico, Petrosino, Dipiero & O'Shea Ltd. in Chicago.
