CHICAGO — The representative of the estate of a deceased patient is suing Manor Care of Libertyville, IL LLC and HCR Manor Care Services LLC for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries and negligence.
Morgan Streicher, special representative of the estate of Jill Plater, filed a complaint on June 27 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Plater sustained life threatening injuries from having a severe respiratory failure while under the defendants' care. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to adequately supervise Plater during her stay at their facility. Plater died two days later.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount enough to satisfy the jurisdictional limits of this court, plus court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Jeffrey Schlapp of Schlapp Law Group LLC in Chicago.
