Thyssenkrupp Elevator Corporation, others accused of failing to maintain elevator, which fell several floors

CHICAGO — A man is suing Thyssenkrupp Elevator Corporation, Alliance Partners HSP LLC, Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. and Jones Lang LaSalle Americas Inc. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries and negligence.

Rodney Childs filed a complaint on June 27 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to properly install an elevator on their property.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he sustained serious physical injuries when the elevator he was riding in fell several floors. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly maintain their elevator in a reasonably safe condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. He is represented by Ben Crane and Ervin B. Nevitt of Coplan & Crane Ltd. in Oak Park.
