Victoria's 4900 Sports Bar accused of negligence in connection with alcohol poisoning death

CHICAGO — The representative of the estate of a deceased patron is suing Victoria's 4900 Sports Bar and two people associated with the tavern for alleged negligence for allegedly overserving the woman, contributing to her death.

Melissa Martinez, personal representative of the estate of Belinda Martinez, filed a complaint on June 26 in the Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants continued to serve alcoholic beverages to Belinda Martinez despite allegedly showing signs of intoxication, causing her to suffer alcohol poisoning. 

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount sufficient to satisfy the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by Kevin L. Sterk of K.L. Sterk & Associates Ltd. in Chicago.
