Advocate Medical Group, doctor accused of leaving amputated arm too long for prosthetic

Medical malpractice 05

CHICAGO — A man is suing Advocate Medical Group and doctor Charles E. Frank for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries and negligence.

James Bartlett filed a complaint on July 7 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to provide him with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges his arm was amputated, but what is left of his arm is too long for the type of prosthetic he needs. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to consult with a prosthetic specialist before amputating his arm.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus interest and court costs. He is represented by Lauren D. Cohen of Donald A. Shapiro Ltd. in Chicago.
