CHICAGO — A deceased woman's family is suing VHS West Suburban Medical Center Inc., West Suburban Medical Center, doctor Craig Wlodarek and Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology and Sleep Medicine P.C. for alleged negligence and for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Kendra Hinton, special administrator of the estate of Ella Ree Hinton, filed a complaint on July 7 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants failed to provide Ella Ree Hinton with proper medical care when she suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly administering a medication to Hinton without considering the potential side effects. The plaintiff argues that the defendants' actions allegedly led to Hinton's death.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Evan M. Smola of Hurley McKenna & Mertz, P.C. in Chicago.
