Presence Saint Francis Hospital, others accused of negligence

CHICAGO — A mother and her minor son are suing Presence Saint Francis Hospital, Access at Saint Francis, Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and several medical professionals for alleged negligence and for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Doctors Jon E. Pasqua, Pablo Amecillo, Migdalia Cortina, Tiy Smith, Peter K. Rabiah and Joanna Blackburn were also named as defendants.

Sharell Humphreys and her minor son filed a complaint on July 20 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the boy developed jaundice after the defendants allegedly failed to diagnose Garner's condition before discharging them from their care.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $30,000. They are represented by S. Jerome Levy of S. Jerome Levy & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
