CHICAGO — A woman is suing Chicago Public Schools and Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL), which operates the Tarkington School of Excellence, for alleged liability and negligence.
Olivia Tamez filed a complaint on July 28 in the Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the school failed to keep their bleachers reasonably safe for her.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she sustained injuries when she fell while walking down the bleacher stairs. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to make sure the bleachers were locked into their position.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court plus court costs. She is represented by Mitchell B. Friedman of Morici, Figlioli & Associates in Chicago.
