Northwestern Memorial Hospital, others accused of puncturing woman's heart

CHICAGO — A woman's family is suing Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group, Northwestern Memorial Faculty Foundation and Northwestern Memorial Hospital for alleged negligence and for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Edward and James Roy, co-personal representatives of the estate of Betty Roy, filed a complaint on July 28 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants allegedly punctured Betty Roy's right ventricle in her heart, which resulted in the deterioration of her health. 

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. They are represented by Pfaff, Gill & Ports Ltd. in Chicago.
