Medical malpractice 08

CHICAGO — A deceased child's parents are suing Swedish Covenant Hospital, Swedish Emergency Associates P.C., Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Pediatric Faculty Foundation Inc., nurse Theresa Gaudio and doctors Bruce McNulty, John W. Baldwin, Neha K. Dave, Shweta Stuart and Kerri Machut alleging they failed to provide the proper treatment for the condition that claimed the boy's life.

Anwar J.A. Al-Shaikhli, independent administrator of his son's estate, filed a complaint on July 25, in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging his son suffered pyloric stenosis, a condition in which certain stomach muscles become too big and block food from moving into the small intestine. The plaintiff claims the defendants allegedly failed to decompress his son's stomach and insert an endotracheal tube.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by Susan A. Capra of Clifford Law Offices P.C. in Chicago.
