CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing MacNeal Hospital and Dr. Ritu Patel for alleged negligence and for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.
Frank Kopanis, independent administrator of the estate of Antonios Kopanitsanos, filed a complaint on Aug. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to recognize the patient's symptoms and provide necessary treatment when Kopanitsanos suffered cardiopulmonary arrest and anoxic brain injury, which allegedly contributed to his death.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by Margaret Battersby Black and Jaime A. Koziol of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
