CHICAGO — A woman is suing Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital for alleged negligence and for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Irene M. David filed a complaint on Aug. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging she sustained heart muscle damage after allegedly being discharged from the hospital without knowing that it was against the doctor's medical advice. After being discharged, David travelled to South Carolina, where she allegedly experienced more symptoms and was hospitalized. She was then diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to provide her with appropriate medical instructions before discharging her from its care.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by the McCallister Law Group LLC in Chicago.
