Patents 05

CHICAGO — A frequent litigant which has sued a number of other companies for allegedly violating patents is now also suing Modernizing Medicine Inc.

BillingNetwork Patent Inc. filed a complaint on Aug. 2 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, alleging that the defendant used a management system that infringes on its patent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. The plaintiff is represented by Timothy J. Haller of Haller Law PLLC in Chicago.

The lawsuit is the latest such patent measure brought by BillingNetwork, which has filed 18 other such patent infringement suits in Chicago federal court against other companies since 2009. Haller Law has represented BillingNetwork in other cases, as well.
