CHICAGO — A deceased man's family is suing Shoreline Apartments Realty LLC after the man fell several stories to his death at the bottom of an elevator shaft.

Antoinette Williams, independent administrator of the estate of Bryant K. Williams, filed a complaint on Aug. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendant failed to keep its property reasonably safe.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Bryant Williams sustained fatal injuries when he fell several stories to the ground. The plaintiff claims that he was found at the bottom of an elevator shaft. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to warn of a hazardous condition on the premises.
