Presence Medical Group, others accused of negligently perforating patient's colon

CHICAGO — A couple is suing Presence Medical Group, Dr. John C. Evans, Presence Resurrection Medical Center, Dr. Steve C. Christos, Cook County John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital and Dr. Aiman Tulaimat for alleged negligence.

Wayne Walker and Brenda Goodbread-Walker filed a complaint on Aug. 24 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to provide Wayne Walker with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege Walker sustained serious physical injuries, including a perforated colon, from not being timely referred to a gastroenterologist. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to obtain a timely gastroenterology referral despite Walker's request.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. They are represented by Christ S. Stacey of Law Offices of Christ S. Stacey in Chicago.
