America Auto Auction Chicago allegedly failed to act on sexual harassment allegations

CHICAGO — A woman is suing America Auto Auction Chicago for alleged intentional infliction of emotional distress, sexual harassment, violation of civil rights and violation of federal law.

The woman filed a complaint on Sept. 1 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants allowed her to be the subject of sexual comments by another employee, a male.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she was forced to quit her job because of the alleged harassment. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to take action on her complaint about being sexually harassed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She also is seeking to enjoin the defendant  She is represented by Deanne S. Medina of Community Activism Law Alliance in Chicago.
