Chicago Park District, Lincoln Park Zoo accused of negligence after traffic barrier falls on woman

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Chicago Park District and the Lincoln Park Zoological Society for alleged liability, and negligence.

Paola Gomez filed a complaint on Sept. 6 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging she was physically injured when a steel traffic barrier fell on her. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to warn her the steel traffic could fall.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the minimum jurisdiction of this court. She is represented by Daniel M. Kotin and Philip P. Terrazzino of Tomasik Kotin Kasserman LLC in Chicago.
