CHICAGO — A man is suing Homeadvisor Inc., Angi Homeservices Inc., Hawthorne Direct LLC, and Does I through Doe V, for alleged deceptive trade practices and unfair competition.
Ray Alan Bovinett filed a complaint on Aug. 28 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois alleging the defendants used his image and persona without permission in a broadcast.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for damages of not less than $2.8 million and court costs. He is represented by attorney Mark H. Barinholtz P.C. in Chicago.
