CHICAGO — A former employee is suing the Illinois Department of Transportation for alleged discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination.

Lloyd Colbert filed a complaint on Aug. 28 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, alleging the defendant discriminated against him due to his race.

The plaintiff alleges  the defendant terminated him in retaliation for opposing discrimination in the workplace and filing a whistleblower complaint.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to reinstate the plaintiff, award outstanding back pay, lost overtime, front pay, compensatory damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by attorney Philip S. Holloway in Chicago.
