Alden Estates of Evanston allegedly failed to prevent coffee from being spilled on patient

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Alden Estates of Evanston for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Shirley Hoffman filed a complaint on Sept. 12 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging she was injured when a hot liquid spilled on her. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to adequately supervise and assist her.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Margaret Battersby Black of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
