Hobbs Overhead Doors Inc., others accused of negligence

A couple is suing Hobbs Overhead Doors Inc., Maciel LLC and Midwest Dock Solutions Inc. for alleged liability and negligence.

CHICAGO — A couple is suing Hobbs Overhead Doors Inc., Maciel LLC and Midwest Dock Solutions Inc. for alleged liability and negligence.

Jesus Maldonado and Bertha Alicia Maldonado Vilchis filed a complaint on Sept. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to properly maintain a hydraulic lift and dock plate.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege Jesus Maldonado fell to the ground causing severe and permanent injuries when the forklift he was riding fell. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly allowing Maldonado to use the hydraulic life and dock plate despite allegedly knowing that it was not working properly.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. They are represented by Paul G. O'Toole of Salvatao & O'Toole in Chicago.
