Holy Cross Hospital, doctors allegedly failed to recognize symptoms of stroke

CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing Holy Cross Hospital, Dr. Ashraf Abourahma, Dr. Smain Sadok and Smain Sadok, M.D., S.C. for alleged negligence in the care of a relative.

Brak Huffman, independent administrator of the estate of Kish Huffman, filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Kish Huffman experienced pain and her overall health deteriorated after she suffered a stroke in September 2015. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to recognize that Kish Huffman's symptoms could be related to an acute stroke and provide her with the necessary treatment.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdiction of this court. He is represented by John R. Wrona, Thomas G. Gardiner and Shannon V. Condon of Gardiner Koch Weisberg & Wrona in Chicago.
