Tri State Nursing & Rehabilitation Center accused of allowing woman to burn herself with hot tea

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Tri State Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for alleged negligence.

Linda M. Deanes, by her power of attorney Cicely E. Banks, filed a complaint on Oct. 6 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Deanes developed pressure ulcers and was burned when she spilled hot tea on herself. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to adequately supervise and assist Deanes to prevent her from spilling the tea and from developing pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Kristen N. Koeller of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates in Chicago.
