CHICAGO — Two individuals are suing Loyola University Medical Center and Ines Daniel, a nurse, for alleged negligence.
Kenneth Spurlin and Raven Kimp, individually and as parents of Destiny Spurlin, filed a complaint on Oct. 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants failed to provide Destiny Spurlin with proper medical care.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that Destiny Spurlin experienced pain in Nov. 2016 due to an IV that was allegedly inserted into her right upper extremity in an improper manner. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly insert the IV into Destiny Spurlin's upper extremity, allegedly causing it to be filled with fluid.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants for actual damages and court costs. They are represented by Jeremy L. Geller of Trapp & Geller in Chicago.
